F-40 alu profile added to the BLOCAN construction profile range

A new flange bracket aluminium profile has been added to complete the construction profile range. Like all BLOCAN profiles, the F-40 can be easily assembled via flange bracket connection without any further machining.

Not only does this save you time and money, but also enables it to work flexibly with the profile system. It is possible to make changes to the construction simply by moving or shortening the profiles.

Convincing arguments

  • Cost advantage
  • No mechanical machining necessary
  • Errors in construction or assembly can be rectified more easily
Simple

  • Just order and assemble

Compatibility

  • Aluminium profiles can be combined with products in other ranges
Appearance

  • Connection not visible from outside and therefore not a disruptive factor when using accessories

RK Light Clamps - the clever plastic series

The RK LightClamps plastic connection system guarantees utomost flexibility thanks to the design of 1st reducing bushes. This design enables the clamping of the most various tube sections and diameters. The change to other diameters or sections (round and square tube) requires only the change of the reduction bush. The basic element remains the same.

Clamp connectors combine attractive design with functionality

Besides their attractive design and the intelligent system of reducing bushes the clamping elements are characterised especially by their resistance to chemicals. They are particularly appropriate for sensitive applications under laboratory conditions and for industrial applications as, for instance, in the beverage or packing industry.
Optionally equipped with High-Speed-Steel screws, RK LightClamps can also be used in the food industry and in wet areas, e. g. the beverage industry.
  • Corrosion-resistant
  • Lightweight
  • Can be used in food packaging for example
  • Reduction sleeves for flexibility
  • Compatible with BLOCAN® profile system

Phoenix Mecano strengthens its ELCOM/EMS division with acquisition of Hitec

3 January 2014.  Phoenix Mecano Group, a leading player in the manufacture and sale of technical components for industrial applications, is to acquire all shares in Hitec Special Measuring Systems (Hitec SMS), Almelo (Netherlands) with effect from 1 January 2014.

The company will be run under the name Phoenix Mecano SMS. Hitec SMS is a successful niche player in the field of high-precision measuring systems for electrical current. Its core product technology, known as zero-flux measurement, is used mainly in research laboratories as well as in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems, which enable the highly efficient transmission of electricity across large distances. HVDC systems are also used to connect offshore wind turbines to the alternating current (AC) network and to connect AC networks with different frequencies (e.g. 50/60-Hz networks).

The company will be integrated into the ELCOM/EMS division. It will be a key building block in the division's ongoing realignment following its withdrawal from the production of toroidal transformers and chokes for solar inverters (former Datatel arm) due to changes in market conditions. This division already manufactures transformers and chokes for wind turbines and large scales solar power plants. Via its Wiener subsidiary, the ELCOM/EMS division has also been successfully producing special power supply systems and backplanes for physics research laboratories such as CERN for a number of years. Hitec SMS generated sales of around € 6 million in 2013. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
